A student from the National School of Arts "Prof. V. Stoyanov" won the Special Award of the Municipality of Ruse in the national competition "Christmas Star"

The winners of the National Children's Creativity Competition "Christmas Star" were awarded on December 14 during the gala concert, which took place in the Philharmonic Hall. Over 100 participants were admitted to the final, 57 were awarded in different age groups from the four categories in which they competed - Competition for making a Christmas/New Year card, a Christmas tree, an ornament; for a literary work; for a drawing and for a song.

The fifth edition of the forum, which is organized by the Association "I Love, Dream, Create", was held under the patronage of the Vice President of Bulgaria Iliana Yotova and the Mayor of the Municipality of Ruse Pencho Milkov. As every year, the competition was held under the motto "Children Help Children" and is dedicated to raising funds for the Alexander Rusev Foundation for the construction of a children's rehabilitation center for children with disabilities with the support of the Municipality of Ruse, which provided land for the construction. At the beginning of the concert, the chairman of the foundation Iliyan Rusev-Skuri announced that all donations go only to the construction of the center, and the children with motor and mental problems with whom he works have already won 3 cups from international competitions and 6 from national ones.

Vice President Iliyana Yotova sent a congratulatory address, in which she congratulated the organizers in the person of the chairman of the association Antonia Kamburova, for supporting the construction of the rehabilitation center for children with disabilities. “May your kindness be rewarded and multiplied,” wished the vice president. The mayor of the municipality of Ruse Pencho Milkov also welcomed the attendees with a congratulatory address, in which he thanked the association for giving young artists the opportunity to express their ideas, imagination and individuality. “You give hope that children's creativity can change the world and make it better. I wish you even greater success in discovering future artists,” the mayor said in his welcoming remarks.

The concert was attended by Deputy Mayor Dimitar Nedev and the Executive Director of the Industrial Capital Association Dobrin Ivanov. Dimitar Nedev thanked all the children who participated in this performance on the eve of Christmas for giving freedom to their dreams and expressing themselves through their creativity. “There is nothing more wonderful than children helping children in need. I wish you to never cease to amaze others with your creative courage and to excite with the good you give,” said the deputy mayor. He presented the awards of the youth jury and the special awards of the competition. The special award of the Ruse Municipality was won by the student from the National School of Arts “Prof. V. Stoyanov" Arzu Mehmed, who impressed the jury and the audience with her wonderful performance of a folk song. Her teacher is Rumyana Ruseva.

The jury in the song category also included singer Divna, who wished all young talents to continue singing their song - the one that is in their hearts. "You are the future of our country and it looks very beautiful thanks to you. Go boldly forward," said Divna.

The grand prize of Vice President Iliyana Yotova was awarded - in the song category to Raya Varbanova, in the folklore category - the group "Shareno Gerdanche" and the ensemble "Missionis" from Targovishte, for the performance of a Christmas song - Eva Harrison, for drawing - Raya Mladenova and Victoria Zhivkova.

Today at 2 pm in "Arena Ruse" the big Christmas pageant will be held. All souvenirs made by the children in the National Competition will be displayed at a stand in the hall. The proceeds from the sale will be donated to the Alexander Rusev Foundation.
