Thursday, 21 July 2022

In the Municipality of Ruse, a meeting was convened with the directors of homes for the elderly and the heads of social services for children and adults in the territory of the municipality, in connection with the growing number of people infected with COVID-19 in our country. According to data on the Interactive map of registered cases and areas of morbidity as of July 20, the positive samples in the Ruse region are 120 per 100,000, which is why we fall into the yellow zone.

At the meeting organized by Deputy Mayor Encho Enchev, the attendees got acquainted with the National Operational Plan for dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, updated on July 14 by the Council of Ministers. The main goals of the activities listed in the document are to limit morbidity and mortality, to reduce the burden on the health system in the country, as well as to create an adequate organization to promptly take the necessary actions to prevent a possible mass spread of the coronavirus infection.

A total of 5 stages are defined in the Plan, and for each the anti-epidemic measures to be introduced at the regional or national level are listed. The stages and measures are determined on the basis of a clear mathematical model, taking into account the 14-day morbidity by region and the occupancy rate of non-intensive and intensive hospital beds.

According to the data, Ruse falls among the measures indicated in stages 0-1 and it is necessary to implement them to prevent further epidemic spread of COVID-19, as follows:

1. wearing a protective face mask in the facilities for the provision of social services;

2. observance of a physical distance of at least 1.5 m;

3. hand hygiene and disinfection of surfaces, regular ventilation;

4. conducting a daily filter in specialized institutions for the provision of social services and in residential-type social services for children and adults for the presence of users and staff with clinical symptoms of COVID-19 and not allowing staff to work until the diagnosis is established and clinically recovery.

Encho Enchev demanded from the attendees to update the developed plans for COVID-19, to issue the necessary orders and to strictly monitor compliance with the anti-epidemic measures in order to limit the morbidity.
