Monday, 17 October 2022

The photographic exhibition "LONdown - The Fear" with author Dimitar Kazandzhiev will be opened on October 24 / Monday / in Dohodno Zdanie. The exhibition is held at the invitation of the Club of Culture Workers and with the support of the Municipal Enterprise "Ruse Art". She will stay in Ruse until November 4.

Dimitar Kazandzhiev received his education and upbringing in the Danube city. An engineer by education, a technician by vocation and an esthete by upbringing, he does not turn his back on any of them and manages to reconcile them.

The photographs in the exhibition show famous places from London during the worst moments of the COVID-19 pandemic. The author shares how they looked during the lockdown. The exhibition takes us back to the recent past and visualizes the fear that has depopulated even the busiest places in the world.

Kazandzhiev is the co-author of several patents during the socialist era and of three solo photography exhibitions from his 20-year residence in England. "One long return" and "Metamorphoses", which have already been presented in Rousse, and "LONdown - The Fear".

The magic of photography grabbed him first as a technical process, and then his sense of the aesthetic turned it into a lifelong hobby. The motto that guides him in photography is "I photograph not what I see, but what I want to see."
