The competitor of Weightlifting Club "Ruse" Angel Rusev won the gold medal in the category up to 55 kg at the European Weightlifting Championship, which is held in "Armeec" hall in Sofia. This is the fourth consecutive championship title for the 22-year-old Ruse. Teammate Dzhan Zarkov won a bronze and silver medal in the ejection in his men's debut.

Angel Rusev won his title with a total match of 244 kg. He threw out 109 kg, which put him in third position, and the movement itself ended with a shoulder injury. The young man from Ruse could not cope with 111 kg, because the pain was too strong. Despite the temporary difficulty, he did not give up and waited for all attempts at ejection to be completed. There was a successful lifting of 135 kg from the first attempt and a failed attempt with 140 kg, which he refused to lift a third time.

The result in the ejection of the Ruse athlete was an impressive 135 kg.

The challenges Rusev faced did not prevent the final standings, placing him at the top of the podium.

Young Dzhan Zarkov won his bronze medal with a match of 235 kilograms - 102 in the ejection and 133 in the ejection.

Nadezhda – May Nguyen from Weightlifting Club "Ruse" also triumphed with bronze at the start of the European Championship in Sofia. The young heavyweight athlete competes in the category up to 45 kg. Her teammate Reni Ruseva also performed worthily in Group B of the category up to 49 kg. She recorded a successful experience of 60 kg in the ejection and 80 kg of ejection.
