Guinness record holder Teodor Tsvetkov distributed nearly 1,000 cards with messages to Ruse children
Parents of children with special needs had the opportunity to meet and talk with Iliyan Rusev - Skuri, who devoted himself to water rehabilitation for children with disabilities. The meeting was part of the "GOOD EXAMPLE" campaign. YOU CAN TOO", and the parents asked many questions about the development of the little ones in the water environment and attended one of Skouri's activities with children at the Sports School pool. The swimming and MMA champion Kostadin Enev also took part in the meeting.
"The progress of children with special needs, and even adults, depends a lot on the opportunity to have periodic activities in an aquatic environment," said Iliyan Rusev. In recent years, he persistently fought through the "Alexander Rusev" foundation to build a water-rehabilitation center in Ruse to help children with disabilities.
On the Day of Tolerance, more than 20 volunteers from different classes of "Olympi Panov" school talked with Teodor Tsvetkov. During the first introductory meeting in October, they asked the Guinness World Record holder a lot of questions and received souvenir cards from his visit. Theodore then issued a challenge to them - to think of a volunteer initiative to implement together. In response, the children gave many ideas related to ecology, tolerance, sports, creativity, resource conservation, etc. The volunteers voted on which of the ideas to implement in the near future and unanimously decided to delight elderly people in need with Christmas cards.
The result of the campaign "THE GOOD EXAMPLE. YOU CAN TOO" is nearly 1,000 distributed cards with a message and an autograph, children's smiles and clasped hands, hundreds of informed citizens. It was initiated by the project partner - Association "Bulgarian-Romanian Cross-Border Mediation Institute" and set itself the goal of colorfully illustrating good examples in the development of children and their achievements through their participation in various events. The significance of each child, regardless of their origin, ethnicity, health status or social situation, is a leading value and is the basis of the policies in the field of education of the Municipality of Ruse.
The campaign "THE GOOD EXAMPLE. YOU CAN" is part of activity No. 6 of project BG05M9OP001-2.056-0007-2014BG05M2OP001-C01 "Integrated measures for social and educational inclusion of vulnerable groups in the territory of Ruse municipality". It is implemented by the Beneficiary - the Municipality of Ruse in partnership with the Association "Bulgarian-Romanian Cross-Border Mediation Institute", DG "Pinocchio", DG "Rusalka", DG "Sinchets", DG "Nezabravka" and OU Olimpi Panov.
