Students up to 10 years of age will use public transport for free

On 1 February, a decision of the Council of Ministers comes into force, according to which all students up to the age of 10 will be able to use the public transport network free of charge. The new measure will be in place until the end of the year and to benefit from it, children will need to be issued with a transport card - a free travel card.

Students over 10 years of age and full-time students will also be able to use public transport cards at reduced prices. Until now they were riding for 24 BGN. per month, and from February they will be able to do it for BGN 4. The price is valid for all trolleybus lines or for one bus line. For the lines of the entire city network, students will pay 12 BGN, while until now they paid 45 BGN.

Pensioners are also taken into account - the value of their subscription cards will be reduced by 40%, as opposed to the current 20%. The price of their 1 line bus tickets becomes 14 BGN. This is the same value for all trolleybus lines. Until now these cards cost 18 BGN.

The same rules will apply to intercity transport in Ruse municipality. The difference is that children under 10 will have to buy a zero-value ticket. Tickets for public transport are issued in the Ticket Centre of Ruse Municipality on ul. "Skobelev" №45. A transport document for pupils up to the age of 10 can be collected from there on presentation of the child's birth certificate.
