Desislava Vasileva from Ruse deserved the grand prize of the "Northern Lights" competition

Desislava Vassileva from Ruse won the Grand Prix in the International Competition for Young Performers "Northern Lights". The winners of the 28th edition were announced on October 6 during the gala concert.

The competition was held under the patronage of the Mayor of Ruse Municipality Pencho Milkov. The event was organized by the Northern Lights Association, with the support of the Municipality of Ruse and the Municipal Youth Center in Ruse. 

During the three days of the competition, talents from all over the country competed on the stage. Their performances were evaluated by a jury whose members were Toni Dimitrova, Eva Naydenova from the legendary band "Tonika", the composer and singer Haygashod Agasyan, Dimcho Rubchev, conductor of the Big Band Ruse.

The final gala evening began with a recital by the favorite of the Ruse audience Toni Dimitrova. She said to the audience that for her every year at this time happiness has one name of 4 letters - Ruse. The singer thanked the people of Ruse for their friendship.

This year, the special award of the Mayor of Ruse Municipality was won by Ivayla Goranova from Burgas. Mayor Pencho Milkov presented her with the award along with an honorary diploma and a prize.

The mayor congratulated the initiator and director of the musical format, maestro Vili Ikonomov, and thanked him for the long-term care and support for the young singing talents. 

The award of the Vocal Studio for Pop and Jazz "Ikonomov" was received by Raya Radoslavova from Pliska in the group between 11 and 13 years old, and in the group from 5 to 7 years old, the prize was awarded to Velizara Koleva from Varna.  

The award of the Municipal Youth House was presented to Simona Simeonova from Varna and Siana Slavcheva from Dobrich.  

Hanna Borisova from Tutrakan was awarded the special prize of the Green Rock Fest Association. 

Here are the winners in the different age groups:

• I age group (from 5 to 7 years old) - Nicole Molduvanova from Varna and Yoana Ivanova from Svishtov.

• II age group (from 8 to 10 years old) – Anastasia Plachkova from Gabrovo;

• III age group (from 11 to 13 years old) - Kristian Ilkov from Ruse;

• IV age group (from 14 to 17 years old) – Borislava Borisova from Svishtov;

• V age group (from 18 to 25 years old) – 1st place is not awarded, 2nd place is taken by Anna Drumeva from Ruse.
