A republican review on police personal protection and karate for Interior Ministry officials was held in Sofia. Two teams from the Ministry of Interior - Ruse took part in the championship, with Ruse police officers winning several awards.
Spartak Sports and Tourism Club - Ruse with coach and head Stanislav Stanchev - chief instructor of police personal protection in the Ministry of Interior - Ruse won gold in the team competition. The team consisting of Sasho Petrov and Svetoslav Bodurov managed to win the championship title in the professional sport - police personal protection, leaving behind them the teams of the Academy of the Ministry of Interior and their colleagues from Pleven. The champions were awarded by our Olympic karate champion Ivet Goranova.
The other team from Ruse consisting of Denislav Nikolov and Dimitar Dimitrov qualified in the fifth place. In the karate team standings, the employees of the local Ministry of Internal Affairs won the second place.
In the individual race, Svetoslav Bodurov became the champion of the “kata”, and in the category “kumi” in men up to 75 kg he grabbed the second place. Third place went to Denislav Nikolov and Sasho Petrov from Ruse.
The championship in Sofia was also attended by the Milen Atanasov from Ruse, who was a judge in the tournament.
