Students from the Youth Parliament in Ruse became “European Project Detectives” within the framework of the National Campaign “European Project Detectives 2025”. It is organized by the Network of 27 Regional Information Centers in Bulgaria. Under the mentorship of the Regional Information Center in Ruse, they visited the Executive Agency for the Study and Maintenance of the Danube River (EAMDP), where they learned about the agency’s activities and the importance of the projects it implements.
Among the most interesting moments was the story of Bozhidar Yankov, Secretary General of EAMDP, who presented in detail one of the agency’s key projects – “Improvement of Navigation Systems and Topohydrographic Measurements on the Danube River – Phase 2”. Thanks to the successful implementation of this project, the agency acquired a modernly equipped catamaran, which plays an essential role in the hydrographic surveys of the Danube River.
The students asked many questions about the equipment used and the future of such initiatives. In response to their interest, they were invited to visit the catamaran itself next month to learn about the innovations and opportunities offered by modern navigation and hydrographic equipment.
“This event is an excellent example of how young people can actively engage in understanding complex European projects and see in practice how they improve our lives,” said Bozhidar Yankov.
Regional Information Center - Ruse is part of the network of 27 Regional Information Centers for the promotion of the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) and the European Funds under Shared Management (EFSM) in Bulgaria.
