Citizens of Ruse welcomed 2023 with impressive fireworks, lots of music and games

Hundreds citizens of Ruse and guests of the city filled "Svoboda'' Square, joining in the celebrations to welcome the New Year.

Traditionally, Ruse Municipality organized a rich program, which started with the talented Ruse musicians from the rock band "Soda Acoustic". They created a great mood with the amazing performances of golden Bulgarian hits.

The festive atmosphere was complemented by a dance competition in which 3 dance couples improvised on the spot, to the rhythms of salsa, bachata and ruchenitsa, fighting for the audience's appreciation.

The big guest performer of the evening was the beloved Polly Genova. She delighted the attendees with her hits and tracks from her latest album "A Better Christmas". The singer also sent a special message to the people of Ruse for the new year - not to give up in the face of difficulties and not to lose faith in the good and in love, with the songs "Stubborn" and "If love was a crime".

"Let 2023 be different for all of us. Let the worries and everything that divides us be left behind. Let's find the strength to take care of each other and do the best we can for our community!", greeted Mayor Pencho Milkov.

Minutes before midnight, the New Year's speech of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev was played on a video wall, followed by a lavish fireworks display. Traditionally, a Danube dance was performed in the square by the hundreds of citizens who came to welcome the New Year with hope. They wished it to bring peace in the world and health to their families.

On the festive night Ruse residents and guests of the city also benefited from free travel on all trolleybus lines of public transport. The transportation was provided by Ruse Municipality and "Municipal transport Ruse" EAD.
