Dancers and musicians from Colombia and Kazakhstan conquer Ruse

A two-day international folklore festival will be held on July 26 and 27 in Ruse. The city will become an open stage of captivating musical rhythms, colorful costumes and cultural exchange under the title "Rhythms without Borders".
The event is organized by the Municipality of Ruse with the assistance of CIOFF Bulgaria (National Section of the International Council of Organizers of Festivals of Folklore and Traditional Arts), and the artistic director is Bogdan Donev.
Residents and guests of the city will have the opportunity to experience the exoticism of South America and the ancient traditions of Central Asia through the art of three international ensembles. The Experimental Dance Company "ETNIA" from the city of Sogamoso in Colombia, the Folk Instrument Ensemble "SHABYT" at the Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University "S. Seifullin" in the capital of Kazakhstan Astana and the Folk Dance Ensemble "GAMI" from the city of Almaty, Kazakhstan will perform before the Ruse audience. A varied program has been prepared especially for the event on both festival days, which includes attractive street parades with short animations among the people and evening open-air concerts.
On the first day, the procession of the visiting groups will start at 7 p.m. from the Alyosha Monument and will pass along Aleksandrovska Street. Two special stops are planned - in front of the Halls building and in front of the Clock, where each of the groups will present short animations for the audience. The finale of the parade is in front of the Ruse Municipality building, where the official concert on a large stage will be held from 8:30 p.m. to 9:50 p.m.
On the second day, the parade starts again at 7 p.m., but the procession will depart from Prince Alexander Battenberg Square. The artists will make a stop for musical and dance animation on Khan Kubrat Square at the Violinist Monument. They will then head to the Municipality building for a second big concert starting at 8:30 p.m.
All events in the program are free to attend. The Municipality of Ruse invites citizens and guests of the city to become part of this international celebration of folklore, dance and friendship.
