Educational cards with QR code offer a bridge to the past

The project "Knowledge - a bridge from past to future", implemented by the Association "Development of Social Capital" under the program "Knowledge and Growth", realized by the Municipal Foundation "Ruse - City of Free Spirit" with the support of Econt Express, was successfully completed.

The project collected information and photo material from the State Archive - Ruse, related to the Danube town during the Renaissance. The data were systematized in 4 thematic areas - Education, Culture, Fashion and Sport. From the information collected, 20 educational maps were developed. They contain photos and brief information, as well as a QR code that, when scanned, provides a thorough reference on the topic and trivia.

The created teaching aids correspond to the teaching material for the 7th grade in "History and Civilization". The educational maps could be used as a teaching aid by the teachers, as well as to stimulate the interest and enrich the students' knowledge about the culture and history of Ruse during the Renaissance.

At the end of the project, 23 primary and secondary schools in the city that teach "History and Civilization" in Grade 7 received sets of the educational cards. Ruse residents can get acquainted with the materials, which are available for public use in the Regional Library "Lyuben Karavelov" and the State Archive - Ruse. The information is also available on the Facebook page of the Social Capital Development Association.
