Gabriela Doncheva was awarded by Mayor Pencho Milkov for "Sportsman of the Month"

The graduate of the Sports School "Major Atanas Uzunov" Gabriela Doncheva was awarded by Mayor Pencho Milkov with the "Sportsman of the Month" award. She is a canoe-kayaker competitor in the Rousse club "Lokomotiv".

At the State Individual Championship, the talented athlete won gold in the following disciplines: K1 2000 m (junior); K1 5000 m (senior); K2 1000 m (senior). In addition, Doncheva won silver in K2 1000 m (junior), K2 500 m (junior) and K2 500 m (senior).

Just a few days ago, she ranked first in the regatta for the Black Sea Cup for girls, demonstrating exceptional endurance over long distances. 

Mayor Pencho Milkov congratulated Gabriela on her success and emphasized that athletes like her are an example for everyone: "Be purposeful and you will achieve everything you dream of."

The 16-year-old graduate of the Sports School has been rowing since the fifth grade, and before that she trained orienteering and women's football. Her ambitions are great, and she herself shares: "I dream of developing in kayaking and going as far as possible." At the moment, Gabriela continues her intensive preparation for the upcoming selections and camps aimed at her further development in sports.

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Mayor Borislav Rachev, the director of Municipal Enterprise "Sports Properties" Lacezar Ivanov and Gabriela's coach Konstantin Velkov.
