High school students competed in innovation camp

More than 100 high school students took part in the innovation camp, which was hosted by Ruse University "Angel Kanchev". The aim of the event was to introduce young people to the concept of circular economy and the opportunities for solving pollution and recycling problems through entrepreneurial business solutions. The forum was organized by Junior achievement, Ruse Municipality and Startup factors and was attended by students from 8 schools from Ruse, as well as representatives of 1 school from Varna and 1 from Silistra.
The Innovation Camp was implemented through Girls Go Circular, a digital learning platform for the circular economy of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology. Initially, participants went through a preliminary introductory module on "Internet Safety" on their own. The event kicked off with an introductory module on "Circular Economy", which was followed by the three modules - "Fashion and Circular Economy", "Circular Economy for Smartphones and Electronic Devices" and "Rethinking Plastics". The students, divided into teams, had to deal with both individual and team tasks, which were divided into 3 rooms / 1 for each of the three topics /.
A special jury selected the most entrepreneurial high school students, who received prizes from the organizers and sponsors of the event. The forum once again established Ruse Municipality as an innovative municipality, promoting green entrepreneurship, as well as the wise use of resources and their recycling. After the innovation camp, students gained more confidence in their skills and in achieving their future goals in entrepreneurship.
