Yesterday in "Dunav" hall in Ruse was held the National Cup "Pristis" for all age groups in karate kyokushin - kan. The competition is part of the State Calendar of the Bulgarian National Karate Federation, and the organizers of the event are the Bulgarian Kyokushin Federation - Kan and the Ruse Sports Club "Ipon" with the support of Ruse Municipality. The sports competition was opened by the mayor Pencho Milkov and 86 athletes from different Bulgarian clubs, members of the federation, took part in it.

"I strongly believe that today all participants are taking a decisive step towards becoming better athletes, but also better individuals, because sport teaches that first," the mayor addressed the athletes. He also thanked their families for the support they give their children every day so that they can improve themselves.

The Ruse club "Ipon" finished the competition with 37 medals - 35 in kumite and 2 in kata. The trophy for fighting spirit went to Alexandra Velikova and Ivan Hristov again from the host club. The trophy for the best technique deservedly went to Trifon Marinov from SC "Kyokushin Pavlikeni" and Gabriela Kirpeva from SC "Kyokushin" Novi Pazar.

There was also a judging seminar, which was led by Sensei Andreyan Ivanov and Shihan Nikolay Rachev.

At the end of September, the European Kyokushin-Kan Karate Championships took place in Madrid, with 370 participants from 20 countries. Bulgarian Kyokushin Federation - Kan participated with 20 of its competitors, who became the second power in Europe. From SC "Ipon" Ruse Angel Ganev became European champion in the category "16-17 years". Elena Emanuilova became the vice European champion in the 12 - 13 years old class, and Boris Vassilev grabbed the bronze medal in the 14 - 15 years old class.At the end of the European Championships, Sensei Miroslav Barbov from the Ruse Sports Club passed the examination for promotion to the director of the World Kyokushin-Kan Organization Hatsuo Royama, where he defended 4 dan.
