The competitors of Iris Swimming Club returned from the European Ice Swimming Championships in Oradia, Romania. Under the guidance of their coach Pavel Todorov they won 2 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze medals in a competition with 330 swimmers from 27 countries. The race was held in water with a temperature of 0 to 5 degrees.
In the age group 18 - 24 Ivan Hristov grabbed gold in the 50 m backstroke, silver medal in the 100 m backstroke and two bronze medals in the 50 m absolute category and the 100 m final.
Tony Anastasov won a gold medal in the 18-24 years category in the 50 m freestyle and a bronze medal in the 50 m butterfly. In the finals, the young Roussean finished 4th and 6th.
In the same age category Mikhail Danev finished second in the 50 m freestyle and third in the 100 m freestyle, taking 5th and 6th place in the final standings.
All Bulgarian athletes who took part in the European Championships won a total of 4 gold, 6 silver and 5 bronze medals.
