Mayor Pencho Milkov awarded the European champion in boys' wrestling Stefan Stefanov

The Mayor of Ruse Municipality Pencho Milkov met with the graduate of the Wrestling Sports Club "Yunak - Lokomotiv" Stefan Stefanov and his personal coach Sava Savov. The athlete from Ruse was awarded for his European title in the category up to 85 kg. in the boys' category, which he won in May in the city of Sofia. Loutraki, Greece.
"I admire the calmness and concentration with which you manage to prevail over your opponents. In your face, young athletes see a spirited athlete and I believe that thanks to you we will be able to attract a new generation of even more prepared children to wrestling," said the mayor. He expressed special gratitude to Stefanov's coach, whose mentorship turns a solid number of athletes into champions.
The man from Ruse won his European title by defeating the Moldovan Eugen Dohater in just 82 seconds with a technical touch 10:0 in the final.
The competitor of the Sports Wrestling Club "Yunak – Lokomotiv" and a current graduate of the Sports School said that his intensive preparation for the upcoming Balkan Wrestling Championship, which will be held in October in Skopje, Republic of North Macedonia, has started. His big goal is to get a quota for participation in the Olympic Games.
The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Mayor Borislav Rachev and the Director of the Municipal Enterprise "Sports Properties" Lacezar Ivanov.
