Mayor Pencho Milkov met with South Korean Ambassador Lee Ho-shik

A working meeting was held by the Mayor of Ruse Municipality Pencho Milkov and the Ambassador of South Korea H.E. Lee Ho-shik. Milkov introduced the diplomat to the economic profile of Ruse and the potential for investments, as well as to the modern development of the city and the municipality.
"Ruse is the cultural-historical and even spiritual capital of Northern Bulgaria, as well as a year-round tourist destination that has its glorious past, but also its future," said the mayor and emphasized the efforts of the local administration to direct the state's attention to the northeastern region. Ambassador Ho-shik was impressed by the rich history of Ruse. The possibilities of promoting the region to attract more South Korean tourists were discussed.
Areas in which Ruse and South Korea have a real opportunity to expand their partnership are culture, tourism and investments in the IT sector, it became clear during the meeting. The two years of isolation, which have hindered the possibilities of deepening bilateral cooperation, were commented on. Among the topics raised were those of twinning Ruse with a South Korean city and creating closer economic ties at the regional level.
Ambassador Lee Ho-shik thanked the mayor of Ruse for the invitation to visit significant events from the city's cultural and sports calendar.
