Mayor Pencho Milkov welcomed carolers in the town square

On the eve of one of the brightest holidays, carolers filled the center of Ruse. The participants in the traditional Ruse caroling called for health, prosperity and well-being.

The Mayor of Ruse Municipality, Pencho Milkov, welcomed the carolers, who performed songs for St. George, who is the protector of the city, and, according to the ritual ritual, "sang" the maiden from the reenactment of the "Christmas Eve" and "Caroling" customs.

At the prepared festive table, blessings were said, fortune-telling about what the next year would be like, and the ritual bread "Bogovitsa" was broken. The mayor, in turn, tied and tightened with a strong knot an authentic woven cloth so that everyone would have iron health and for more great blessing in the coming year.

All participants and guests tasted the traditional Christmas pie and the ritual bread.

The event is part of the Christmas-New Year's Festival of Ruse Municipality. It was organized by a folklore group for authentic customs, rituals and ritual songs at the "Prosveta 1915" Primary School, Dolapite quarter, with artistic director Snezhana Atanasova.
