An honorary consulate of Romania will be opened in Ruse. This was decided today at its meeting by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria. The consular district will cover the territory of the districts of Ruse, Pleven and Veliko Tarnovo. We recall that two years ago, the mayor of the Ruse municipality, Pencho Milkov, expressed the idea of opening a Romanian consulate in Ruse, but the lack of a regular government delayed the process.
"Ruse is the largest Bulgarian city on the Danube and a natural bridge to Romania, and the consulate will facilitate trade relations, investments and economic cooperation between the two countries. It will facilitate cross-border business, support start-ups and opportunities for joint projects and investments, as well as administrative processes for citizens. I thank the Romanian state for the trust in Ruse. Together we can turn our region into a model for cross-border development in Europe," Milkov commented.
Viktor Gugushev, senior partner at the law firm "Gugushev and Partners", will perform the functions of honorary consul. The lawyer has extensive experience in cross-border legal consultations, corporate law and international mergers and acquisitions. He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce.
