Mayors from the North Central Region discussed the development of the region in the coming years

A meeting of the Regional Development Council (RDC) of the North Central Region (NCR) was held today in the building of the Municipality of Ruse. The meeting aimed to discuss key issues related to the development of the region, as well as an update of the representation in the monitoring committees of the strategic European programs for the period 2021-2027.

One of the main items on the agenda was the procedure for electing a Deputy Chairman of the RDC and supplementing the composition of the Council's representatives in the monitoring committees of the Partnership Agreement of the Republic of Bulgaria and the programs co-financed by the European Funds for Strategic Investments.

With full unanimity, Mayor Pencho Milkov was elected to represent the Regional Development Council of the North Central Planning Region in the Monitoring Committee of the "Partnership Agreement of the Republic of Bulgaria 2021-2027", as well as the "Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture" Program for the same period. Together with the Regional Governor of Gabrovo Maria Basheva, Pencho Milkov was also elected deputy holder of the Research, Innovation and Digitalization for Smart Transformation Program 2021-2027.

Participants in the meeting were the Regional Governor of Ruse Dragomir Draganov, the Secretary General of the Regional Administration of Veliko Tarnovo Tsanko Stefanov, the Regional Governor of Gabrovo Maria Basheva and her Deputy Daniela Marinova, the Regional Governor of Silistra Ilian Velikov, the Deputy Governor of Razgrad Nadia Yordanova, the Chairman of the Municipal Council - Silistra Dimitar Trendafilov, the Mayor of Gabrovo and Chairperson of the Regional Development Council of the NCR Tanya Hristova, the Mayor of the town of Elena Dilyan Mlazev, the Mayor of Gorna Oryahovitsa Nikolay Rashkov, the Mayor of Pavlikeni Emanuil Manolov, the Mayor of Razgrad Dobrin Dobrev, the Mayor of Tsar Kaloyan Daud Alyaovlu, the Mayor of Byala Dimitar Slavov, the Mayor of Dve Mogili Bozhidar Borisov and the Mayor of Glavinitsa Necdet Dzhevdet.

The meeting ended with an assurance of continuing efforts for effective management of European projects and programs that will support the development of the North Central region in the coming years.
