More than 300 children took part in the recital competition "For Bulgaria to Have"

The 19th consecutive edition of the recital competition "For Bulgaria to Have", organized by the Municipal Youth House in Ruse, has ended. The literary forum, which took place in the Dohodno zdanie, aimed to preserve and promote Bulgarian poetry and Bulgarian national self-confidence among young people.

Over 300 children and young people from 1. to 12. classes took part over the weekend with their own reading of a work of their choice, and traditionally this year's edition was again divided into two strands - Renaissance poetry and post-Renaissance and contemporary Bulgarian poetry.

The largest number of children were in the first age group - 180, while in the second - from 5 to 7 grade and third - from 8 to 12 grade, more than 120 children and young people participated. This presented the jury with a real challenge to select the best participants who recited and performed works on themes related to the homeland, freedom and the liberation struggle, patriotism, and the beauty of the native land.

The jury of the competition was composed of two members as follows:

First jury: Marian Savov - chairman of the jury, actor, public figure, director of ME Ruse-Art; Tanya Todorova - Head of the Department of Education Youth Activities and Sport at Ruse Municipality; Mina Marinova-actress and representative of the Youth House;

Second panel: Krum Gergitsov - chairman of the jury, theatre scholar, playwright, public figure; Tanya Tsvetkova is an actress; Orlin Dyakov - director, actor.

In the awarding ceremony in the different directions and age groups took part the Deputy Mayor Dimitar Nedev, who was an official guest of the event. The Mayor of Ruse Municipality sent a congratulatory address in which he thanked all the participants, organizers, teachers and parents for stimulating the interest of more and more children and young people in the work of Bulgarian authors.

"For Bulgaria to Have" is a competition for individual performers of works by Bulgarian authors and is dedicated to the national holiday of March 3. Volunteers from the Ruse Youth Parliament contributed to its implementation.
