The University of Ruse celebrated the 78th anniversary of its foundation with a solemn assembly, an exhibition of works and wreaths and flowers at the monument of Angel Kanchev.
The Rector Acad. Hristo Beloev, Mayor Pencho Milkov, Deputy Minister of Education and Science prof. Ginka Petrova and the Regional Governor had the honour to cut the ribbon and congratulate the students and the academic staff on the occasion of the opening of the new Research Complex.
"I believe that key scientific discoveries on a regional and national scale will be born here. The University of Ruse has always been a powerful engine, and with the new complex it will continue to establish Ruse as one of the most innovative and reliable research centers in Bulgaria," said Pencho Milkov.
The new complex was completed within 18 months with own funds. It has state-of-the-art laboratories for research in hydrogen technology, 3D printing, agriculture, unmanned aerial vehicles and more.
Together with the Centre of Excellence opened last week, the two facilities are emerging as modern multidisciplinary hubs for the development of science and technology by students and faculty.
The celebration continued with a solemn assembly of the academic staff. Retired faculty members were recognized for their contributions on the occasion of anniversaries and diplomas were awarded to those who received degrees and academic positions in 2023.
