Ruse is once again among the main stages of the "Danube Ultra 2025" route. Around 140 cyclists from Europe will pass through the city today afternoon and on September 2 in the morning. The point where they will be met is located next to the round fountain in front of the Courthouse.
The 12th edition of the longest tourist and cycling challenge in Bulgaria, which started on August 30 from Vidin, is being implemented this year under the motto "The Flow of Time". Participants will ride through 8 districts and 32 municipalities and will cover over 740 kilometers, starting from the most northwestern village - Kudelin, and reaching Durankulak - the most northeastern settlement in Bulgaria. Some of the cyclists are aiming to finish in under 48 hours, while others - within 5-7 days. The initiative is not competitive in nature, with the goal being experience and sharing, not competition.
For another year, the oldest participant is Prof. Antoaneta Momchilova (82 years old), a former lecturer in physical education and sports at the Angel Kanchev University of Ruse.
The initiative is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, the America for Bulgaria Foundation and many Danube municipalities, including the municipality of Ruse.
