Over 500 citizens are served under the project "Care at home in the municipality of Ruse"

Since the beginning of the project "Care at home in the municipality of Ruse", implemented by the Municipality of Ruse, more than 500 users have joined. It was launched on November 14, 2022, expanding the possibilities of providing social and integrated health and social services in a home environment. The services are provided to those in need for a period of 12 months and include delivery of food products and basic necessities, payment of household bills, prevention of health and socially significant diseases, provision of psychological support, assistance in carrying out daily activities.
In addition to improving the quality of the provided integrated social and health service, its scope is also expanding - both the number of users of the service and the settlements in which they live are increasing. The staked indicator of 493 users has already been filled. As of the 6th month of implementation of the project activities, 545 elderly and disabled people with health problems, who are unable to serve themselves, have been included in the service. The users are from Ruse, Marten and small settlements - Tetovo, Semerdzhievo, Yastrebovo, Novo Selo, Khotantsa, Chervena Voda, Bazan, Basarbovo and Prosena. They receive integrated health and social services according to their individual needs.
The number of persons employed under an employment contract has also increased. 158 domestic helpers, 5 social work assistants, 3 social workers, two rehabilitators, two nurses and one psychologist work on the project. Based on the assessments, 60% of users receive support within 2 hours, 20% within 1 hour, and the rest within 3 and 4 hours. The oldest user is 101 years old, and the youngest is 21 years old.
The ambition of the municipal leadership is for the services to reach all those in need, thereby helping both the users of the service and their relatives and families.
The Municipality of Ruse implements the project "Home Care in the Municipality of Ruse" with the concluded administrative contract BG05SFPR002-2.001-0024-C01 under the Program "Development of Human Resources 2021-2027". Services of general economic interest are provided through the "Social Activities" department. The services under the successfully implemented previous projects "Patronage Care", "Patronage Care, Component 2" and "Patronage Care +" under the Operational Program "Development of Human Resources 2014-2020" are being continued and upgraded.
