Pencho Milkov adopted the General Plan for the Development of Ruse Airport

The Mayor of Ruse, Pencho Milkov, met today with representatives of the company that operates Ruse Airport - "Airport Ruse", and the Municipal Council. During the meeting, Hristo Krusharski personally handed over the General Plan for the development of the airport to the mayor.
"Today we are taking an important and expected step for Ruse. I had set a deadline of six months for the presentation of the General Plan and I would like to express my gratitude to Mr. Krusharski for keeping his word to fulfill this requirement. I am convinced that our joint efforts will turn the airport into an operational infrastructure that will bring new opportunities for the economy, business and residents of the region," said the mayor. Pencho Milkov added that at the moment the airport is already registered with the General Directorate "Civil Aviation Administration" as an airport for public use.
The document was developed within the new 6-month deadline for voluntary implementation set by the Municipality of Ruse, and represents a key stage in the fulfillment of the company's contractual obligations. The plan outlines the main directions for the development of the airport infrastructure and is of great importance for its future functioning as part of the transport system of Ruse and the region.
During the meeting, the priorities set out in the plan were discussed, as well as the necessary actions to bring the project into line with the regulatory framework - the Civil Aviation Act and Ordinance No. 20 on certifying the suitability for operation of airports.
The Mayor of Ruse announced that a commission will be appointed by order for the preliminary review of the General Plan, which will also include representatives of the Municipal Council - Alise Murtezova, Denitsa Ivanova, Rena Stefanova, Mariyan Dimitrov, Iskren Veselinov, Eleonora Nikolova, Anatoli Stanev, Deyan Nedkov and Aydoan Dzhelil. Representatives of the Ruse Municipality and external experts will also participate in it. All of them will be able to make corrections if necessary before the document is submitted for coordination to the competent administrations and to the General Directorate of Civil Aviation Administration.
In the coming weeks, the commission will examine in detail the content of the General Plan, after which the specific actions and deadlines for its implementation will be specified. The Municipality's goal is for the process to proceed in transparency and in dialogue with all stakeholders, so that the airport develops in a sustainable and effective manner.
