With these words, Pencho Milkov welcomed the European champion up to 21 years old from Sports Club "Ikigai" Daniel Varbanov and his coach Todor Sabev. The young karateka from Ruse was awarded by the mayor for his success in town Debrecen, Hungary, where he competed in the category up to 70 kg. in the discipline "shobu sanbon kumite".

The graduate of the Sports School in Ruse played 3 matches against strong opponents, in the first one he won a competitor from Romania, in the second fight he defeated a representative of the hosts and in the final he ended with a clear victory against the representative of Azerbaijan.

Daniel Varbanov shared that he draws his inspiration from his coach and his brother, who also trains karate and jiu-jitsu and has medals from Balkan championships behind him. His next goal is the World Cup in Belgrade, Serbia, for which he begins intensive preparation.

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Mayor Borislav Rachev and the Director of the Municipal Enterprise "Sports Properties" Lacezar Ivanov.
