Project provides better services for early childhood development in Ruse municipality

At the beginning of December, the activities between the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and Ruse Municipality for the implementation of the project "Equal start for a happy future through early childhood development services in Ruse Municipality" started. The allocated funds for the project are BGN 111 344. 85, of which 85% are European funds and 15% - national funding. The contract shall have a performance period of 7 months from 1 November to 31 May.
The current project guarantees the continuation of the integrated services created under the "Early Child Development Services" procedure, aimed at children up to 7 years of age from vulnerable groups, including children with disabilities and their families. The implementation of this project will build on existing early childhood development services. This will be fulfilled with patronage care for pregnant women and children up to 3 years and prevention programs in the most vulnerable communities, through programs for the prevention of early marriages and births, preparation for inclusion in the educational system and others according to identified needs. The measures are aimed at children with developmental difficulties and will contribute to the sustainable development of activities that have achieved concrete results for the formation of parenting skills in a community of vulnerable social groups, improvement of the health status and family environment for children at risk, preparation for an equal start at school and prevention of social exclusion.
Within the month of November, the selection of personnel was carried out according to an established methodology and for conducting the selection and appointment of personnel in the two specific activities: "Promoting the socio-economic integration of marginalized communities, such as Roma, through integrated services to support children and families them" and "Improving equal access to quality health-social-educational services, through services for early childhood development and patronage care."
The services that are provided are similar to those of the previous project "Services for early childhood development in the territory of the Ruse municipality", carried out in the Druzhba 3 quarter in the former Home for Medical and Social Care and in the building of the "Svetilnik" Kindergarten " in "Charodeyka" quarter.
Families will be supported through:
- health prevention and prevention, awareness of health care, increasing the health culture and prevention of diseases in children, by actively searching for target groups to be covered with a complex of health and social services depending on the needs; supporting access for target groups; health promotion, disease prevention and prevention;
- implementation of prevention programs in the most vulnerable communities through family counseling and planning and additional pedagogical training to increase children's school readiness for an equal start at school;
- provision of patronage care for children up to 3 years of age and regular monitoring of their health, physical and psychomotor development;
- services for early childhood development - formation of parenting skills; family counseling and support, including regarding health aspects; early intervention for children with disabilities and developmental difficulties.
The activities are carried out under contract No. BG05SFPR002-2.003-0035-C01 under the grant procedure BG05SFPR002-2.003 under the "Future for Children" procedure.
