Prominent student-athletes from "Angel Kanchev" University of Ruse were awarded at a solemn ceremony

At a solemn ceremony in the "Kanev Center", an awarding ceremony was held for outstanding student athletes, sports figures and activists from the sports and tourism sections and clubs of the "Angel Kanchev" University of Ruse for high achievements in 2022.

The awards were presented by academician Hristo Beloev, dtn, and the event was attended by the deputy mayor Encho Enchev, the regional governor Anatoli Stanev, the chairman of the University Sports Center at the "Angel Kanchev" University of Ruse Prof. Dr. Borislav Angelov, representatives from the Education Department , sports and youth activities" in the Municipality of Ruse, teachers, students and guests.

Encho Enchev, Anatoli Stanev and Academician Hristo Beloev gave welcoming words to the attendees, and Prof. Dr. Borislav Angelov made an extensive retrospective of the student athletes' successes.

Among the memorable achievements of 2022 are the 4 gold, 13 silver and 11 bronze medals won at the National Student Universiade and the National Summer Student Games, the four silver medals won by swimmer Berna Velinova, as well as the rankings of the tennis teams of table. The high achievements of students Ivan Banchev and Gabriela Dimitrova, as well as doctoral student Pavel Tsolov, who participated in competitions at home and abroad, held outside the framework of the national student championships, were also noted.

Earlier, two of the doyens of sports journalism in our country - Mihail Delev and Asen Minchev presented, again at the Kanev Center, the second edition of their book "Bulgarian Sports Glory".
