Regional Information Center - Ruse celebrated the European Year of Skills with the presentation of dual education

On May 9, 10 vocational high schools from Ruse presented the results of student practices and dual training, which they implement with the financial support of the OP "Science and Education for Intelligent Growth" 2014-2020. This was part of the information event under the motto "European support for dual training ", dedicated to Europe Day and the European Year of Skills. The organizer is the Regional Information Center - Ruse in partnership with Regional Department of Education - Ruse. In addition to teachers and students from vocational schools, representatives of business, the University of Ruse and the Employment Agency participated.

Official guests were the mayor of Ruse Pencho Milkov, the deputy regional governor Detelina Acheva and the head of the Regional Department of Education in Ruse Rositsa Georgieva.
During the first part of the program in the lobby of the Revenue Building, each school demonstrated the knowledge and practical skills achieved by its students and how this affected their adaptation to the labor market. Emphasis was also placed on the purchase of modern equipment for school workshops, work clothes, protective equipment for students, textbooks and teaching aids. Employer partners also positively assessed the effect of internships and dual training. The opportunity to attract young and prepared personnel to their companies is especially valuable.
"In the European Year of Skills, we decided to focus the attention of the public and businesses on the opportunities for education, training and the acquisition of skills and competences through European means, because in today's very dynamic business world the question of adequate skills of the workforce is becoming more and more relevant and the "education - science - business" partnership, said during the official opening of the event, the manager of Regional Information Center - Ruse, Diana Avramova.
In the second part of the program, high school student teams, participants in practices and dual training, showed their products and shared with the expert from Regional Information Center  Gabriela Stefanova the benefit of the acquired knowledge and skills, their expectations from employers and what prospects they see in front of them. Mayor Pencho Milkov joined the dialogue with the students and teachers. He drew attention to the need for qualified engineering and mid-level technical personnel for local business, incl. for municipal enterprises. The mayor praised students who got involved in the beautification of the urban environment through the OP "Communal activities".
Young people from the Vocational School of Clothing opened the second panel with a fashion show under the motto "Art in me". The models are based on the projects of students from the "Fashion Design" specialty and were made in the lessons of practical training under the guidance of vocational training teachers. And animators from the Professional High School of Tourism closed the event with performances that were appreciated by the audience. The quiz with interesting prizes related to the EU and the European funds also helped the good mood.
In addition to the high schools, representatives of the University of Ruse and the Employment Agency also participated. Prof. Gencho Popov, Dean of the "Agrarian-Industrial Faculty, and ch. Associate Professor Boris Kostov from the Department of "Heating, Hydraulics and Ecology" presented the opportunities for training in several technical specialties of the higher school and explained how they are attractive to young people, what are the opportunities for internships, scholarships and professional development. In the technological and digital age, engineering majors are increasingly in demand. Representatives of the Regional Employment Service and the Labor Bureau - Ruse informed about their programs for training, qualification and employment.
The event of Regional Information Center - Ruse was dedicated to Europe Day and was part of the general initiative of the Network of 27 regional information centers.
