Friday, 23 February 2024

In the next 12 months, the company's Master Plan will be developed

The Directorate General "Civil Aviation Administration" (DG CAA) issued to Airport Ruse a certificate of operational suitability of a civil airport under the Civil Aviation Act. This is the next stage of the company's intentions, which has been operating Ruse Airport since the beginning of 2023. Within one calendar year, the overall Master Plan of Airport Ruse will be developed, which will allow the airport to be used as a civil airport.
We recall that on February 24, 2023, the Municipal Council voted for the company to conclude a contract for the operation of the airport located in the village of Shtraklevo. Since then, significant steps have been taken to modernize the airport and improve the conditions for air services. The lighting system of the runway was built, as Ruse Airport is the first in Bulgaria with LED lighting with solar batteries. The 9-kilometer perimeter fence was also built, the terrain was thoroughly cleaned, and the passenger terminal building was renovated and preserved. Two wind vanes were also installed, which meet the special requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Stationary and mobile fuel tanks were also purchased for the needs of the airport in 2023.
