Ruse celebrates the 119th anniversary of the birth of Elias Canetti

Today, the 119th anniversary of the birth of the only Bulgarian Nobel laureate, the born in Ruse Elias Canetti, was celebrated with a solemn laying of flowers.

The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Mayor of Ruse Municipality Encho Enchev, the Regional Governor of Ruse Dragomir Draganov, Prof. Penka Angelova - founder of the International Elias Canetti Society, as well as citizens who came to bow before the monument of the eminent citizen of Ruse.

Elias Canetti was born on July 25, 1905 in Ruse. He is one of the most significant writers of the 20th century, who left a deep imprint on world literature. His work, including the famous novel "The Blinding" and the autobiographical trilogy "The Saved Language", continues to inspire and excite readers around the world.
