Ruse celebrates World Photography Day with a contest

On World Photography Day, the "Rousse - City of the Free Spirit" Foundation, Bulmarket Group EAD and the Municipality of Ruse challenge lens lovers through a photo contest on the theme "We love Ruse". This is the third edition of the initiative, which aims to show the beauty of the city of Ruse. The idea is to encourage all citizens, photo enthusiasts and professional photographers to capture and seal with their lenses incredible and inspiring moments from the largest Danube city in Bulgaria.
This year, the organizers include a new section - "The Business of Ruse". It is expected to include photos of the work process of all areas of business in Ruse. Participants will be ranked based on professional experience in two categories:
• Not professional
• Professional photographers
Photos can also participate in the now traditional "Aerial Photography", "Landscapes", "Events and Captured Moments" sections. More information about the categories in these sections can be found in the full regulation of the photo contest.
Participants can enter with photographs that present significant buildings, monuments, panoramas, funny moments from their work, interesting machines they work with, events or simply adventures from the city of Ruse. It is necessary that the photos correspond to the assigned theme and have an aesthetic value.
All interested, amateur and professional photographers, without age restrictions, have the right to participate in the photo contest. Persons under the age of 18 may only participate with the consent of their parents or legal guardians.
Each author can participate with a maximum of 5 photos in each of the announced sections. Photos for the photo contest must be no older than 1 year (taken in 2021 or 2022). They must be in digital JPEG format, have a title and must be accompanied by a short text describing the location, situation and history of the photo - up to 500 characters. The size of the image must be no less than 3000 and no larger than 5000 pixels on the long side. The resolution of the images must be at least 200 dpi. Files must not be larger than 10MB. It is necessary that everyone can provide a source file (image in original size).
Registration for participation and submission of photos is done at rusefreespiritcity@gmail.com from August 19 to 8:00 PM on October 15.
The photographs will be evaluated by a jury, including representatives of the "Ruse - City of the Free Spirit" Foundation, Bulmarket Group EAD, the Municipality of Ruse and others. The evaluation criteria are: belonging to the theme of the competition, aesthetic performance, originality, visual impact.
An audience favorite will also be chosen by a vote on the Facebook page of the Ruse - City of the Free Spirit Foundation. Voting can be done from October 18 until 23:59 on October 28.
The awards will be announced and presented at a special ceremony at the opening of the exhibition, which will include the winners ranked by the jury in each category. Cash prizes are also provided.
