Ruse hosted the State Rowing Ergometer Championship

For the first time in Ruse was held the State Championship in rowing ergometer for all ages. The organizers of the sports event in the hall "OZK Arena Ruse" are the Bulgarian Rowing Federation (BRF) and the Sports Club of Academic Rowing "Lokomotiv"- Ruse with the support of Ruse Municipality.

Official guests of the championship were the Mayor Pencho Milkov and the Deputy Mayor Zlatomira Stefanova. In the hall of the sports complex were also present our Olympic champion and senior coach of the national rowing team Rumiana Neykova and the founder of academic rowing in Ruse and silver medalist from the World Championships in France in 1967 Atanas Zhelev.

The championship was opened by the President of BRF Svilen Neykov, who welcomed all participants and attendees. Mayor Pencho Milkov also congratulated the competitors and wished them to give their best in the race.

More than 230 competitors from 14 clubs from all over the country took part in the championship. After controversial battles in all age groups, the men's championship trophy was won by the competitors of Tsonyu Grigorov from Sport Club of Academic Rowing "Lokomotiv"-Ruse with an asset of 48 points. Their runners-up were CSKA and Academic Sofia with 42 and 38 points respectively. In the women's competition the prize went to the athletes from GC "Cherpokov", followed by CSKA and "Akademik" Sofia.
