Ruse Municipality invites proposals for the Ruse Award and Young Artist Award 2023

The deadline for accepting proposals for this year's winners of the Ruse Award and the Young Artist Award, which the Ruse Municipality presents annually at a ceremony on 24 May, expires on 10 May.

The Ruse Award is given to artists, activists, creative teams with merits in the field of art and culture, education and science for a significant contribution to raising the prestige of the city of Ruse. Ruse. The award is presented to individuals for achievements during the period from May 10 of the previous year to May 10 of the current year. The Ruse Award is not open to persons and organisations that have been awarded the same prize in previous years.

The prize is awarded in two areas as follows:



1. Art and Culture:

1. Literature and Journalism - 1 individual: prose, poetry, drama, translation, journalism and heritage;

2. Performing Arts - 1 individual award: theatre, opera, operetta,

musical, puppet theatre, dance, music;

3. Visual Arts - 1 individual award: fine arts,

architecture, film art, audio-visual art;

4. Outstanding contribution to art and culture: 1 individual award;



2. Education and Science:

1. Achievements in pre-primary, primary, primary

education: 1 individual award;

2. Achievements in high school and higher education: 1 individual award;

3. For research and teaching team: 1 collective award;

4. Outstanding Contribution to Education: 1 individual award

The winners of the Ruse Award 2023 will receive a bronze statuette designed and made by the sculptor Georgi Radulov and a diploma.

The Young Artist Award honours young artists from Ruse in the field of arts and culture aged up to 30 with high creative and artistic achievements. It is established in memory of the actors Yana and Georgi Stefanovi  and is accompanied by a cash sum of 600 BGN. and an award token provided by their family.

Proposals for the Ruse Award and the Young Artist Award should be submitted to the Ruse Municipality Office in a sealed envelope with the nomination category clearly written and should contain a comprehensive argumentation and be prepared by organizations and institutions working in the respective fields.

The regulations for both awards are regulated in Regulation No. 17 on the symbols of Ruse Municipality, last amended by Resolution No. 1167 of 13. 12. 2022 of the Municipal Council - Ruse.
