Monday, 14 April 2025

The Municipality of Ruse expressed its support for the “Come Home” initiative – an online platform that connects Bulgarians living abroad with those who have already taken the step to return to their homeland. Its goal is to inspire and facilitate the return process through shared experiences, practical advice and events throughout the country.

As part of their national tour, the representatives of “Come Home” visited Ruse, where they organized a meeting with the local community. The event brought together returned Bulgarians who heard personal stories about the challenges and opportunities that accompany life after returning to Bulgaria.

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Mayor of Ruse, Zlatomira Stefanova, who congratulated the organizers and expressed the commitment of the local authorities to support such initiatives. On behalf of the municipality, it was stated that they are actively working to create a favorable environment for life, development and business, which would encourage more compatriots to return and find fulfillment in Ruse. Stefanova emphasized that every returnee is valuable to the municipality with their experience, the new and different perspective they bring, their entrepreneurial spirit and their willingness to contribute to positive change in the community. She also highlighted the need for local employers to connect with the organizers of the initiative, as returnees possess valuable skills that are useful for the development of local businesses.

The creator and inspirer of the platform is the young, enterprising Bulgarian Lenko Kabaivanov, who chose to return to our country after 20 years of living in the UK. He believes that with personal example and encouragement he can reach over 1,000,000 Bulgarians abroad, showing them that there is a future for development here.
