Ruse Municipality will finance three sports clubs with more than BGN 200,000

At today's session of the Municipal Council, it was voted by a majority that the Municipality of Ruse finances the activities of the Association "Football Club Danube - Ruse", Basketball Sports Club "Danube-Ruse-2016" and Volleyball Sports Club "Danube". According to the decision, the administration will sign sponsorship contracts with sports clubs for a total value of BGN 210,000.

BGN 80,000 will be provided to FC Dunav, as the team will represent Ruse at almost every level in the structure and hierarchy of Bulgarian football. Thanks to the allocated funds, the club will have a greater opportunity to participate in the First Football League.

The basketball sports club "Danube Ruse - 2016" will have funding worth BGN 60,000 to continue its program for the development of basketball among teenagers, which it develops every year. In 2023, a significant success was achieved - the championship title for the U17 boys, which is the first in the history of Ruse. The boys of the team and their coaches were honored as the No. 1 team of Ruse Municipality at the 2023 Athlete of the Year Awards Ceremony. Last year, the basketball club registered a women's team to participate in the "A" group for the 2023-2024 season d. By participating in Bulgaria's strongest women's championship, the team wants to restore the glory of Ruse as a serious factor in women's basketball.

With the funding of BGN 70,000, the volleyball "Danube" is committed to pursuing a ranking in the Efbet Supervolley League of Bulgaria and development of the club's Children's and Youth School. In the current season, the team finished the regular season without losing a game and continues with its excellent play in the playoff series.

The allocated funds come from the municipal budget, and the three sports clubs offer a package of measures to promote Ruse at all upcoming matches.
