Ruse takes part in the World Walking Day initiative

Ruse will take part in the World Walking Day 2023 national sports event. It will take place on 6 October /Friday/ in the Youth Park. The event is organized by Ruse Municipality, Compass - Cross Sports Club, Sport for All Federation and is supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The start of the sporting event will be given at 5:30 p. m. near the Vase in Youth Park, and participants need to complete a predetermined course in the park by walking, running or biking. World Traffic Day is open to all, and at the end of the event participants will have the opportunity to enter an organised raffle.
The sports initiative is organized for the 31st time in a row and aims to promote systematic activities and especially walking as a physical activity and its role in the health, fitness, performance and longevity of people, regardless of their age, gender, social and health status. On World Walking Day, the Bulgarian Sport for All Federation is sending a message to municipalities to encourage more people of all ages and social groups to take part in regular sport and healthy lifestyles.
The event is held with the financial support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and is under the patronage of Minister Dimitar Iliev. The World Walking Day is an event of the State Sports Calendar of the Federation for 2023, under the "Program for the Development of Sport for All" of the Ministry of Sport and is in implementation of the National Program for Physical Activity and Development of the Bulgarian Population "BULFAR'2021 - 2024". Worldwide, the event is part of the programme of the International Association Sport for All TAFISA.
