Ruse again becomes part of the longest tourist cycling route in Bulgaria "Dunav Ultra". 80 cyclists from 5 countries arrive today and tomorrow in the city, as one of the official checkpoints through which cyclists pass is located here. Today, at noon, most of them arrived, and the rest of the group is expected to be in Ruse tomorrow between 9 am and 2 pm.
The adventure, which is 740 km long, starts from the village of Kudelin (Bregovo municipality) and ends in Durankulak. The aim of the initiative is to promote over 110 settlements along the Danube River and in Dobrudja. Enthusiasts from Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, the USA and Great Britain pass through Vidin, Lom, Oryahovo, Baikal, Gulyantsi, Nikopol, Belene, Dve Mogili, Ruse, Tutrakan, Silistra, General Toshevo, Durankulak.
From Vidin to Silistra, the trajectory of the route overlaps the transcontinental route Eurovelo 6. Dunav Ultra is the winner of the Grand Prix "Innovation of the Year in Tourism" of the Ministry of Tourism of Bulgaria. The route is in the special selection "Best in Travel 2024" of the "Lonely Planet" guidebook.
