The day center for adults with severe multiple disabilities turned 5 years old

Tuesday, 07 October 2025

The users and the team of the Day Center for Adults with Severe Multiple Disabilities celebrated today with great enthusiasm the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the social service, managed by the Third Age Foundation. Their special guest was Deputy Mayor Dimitar Nedev, who expressed his gratitude to the people who care for the users.

“With professionalism, patience and big hearts, you and your colleagues turn every day into a lesson in kindness and empathy. Your work is not measured in working hours, but in smiles, in small successes and in those sincere thanks that only people who have received real care know how to express,” said the Deputy Mayor. He turned to the director of the day center, Tsenka Dimitrova, and expressed his gratitude for the professionalism, patience and big hearts of her team, who turn every day into a lesson in kindness and empathy. Dimitar Nedev wished the users good health and continued to show with their smiles, sincerity and strength that the true value of a person lies not in their limitations, but in their spirit.

Tsenka Dimitrova, for her part, thanked the Municipality of Ruse, represented by Mayor Pencho Milkov, for their constant support and for the fact that the social service has become a home of warmth, friendship and humanity. The employees jokingly shared that they are observing a decrease in the intake of medications by most users, as a result of the care and good mood that is felt daily in the day center.

On the occasion of the anniversary, the elderly, supported by the staff, held a real celebration with lots of music and dancing.

We recall that after the completion of the project "Opening a Center for Comprehensive Services for Persons with Disabilities, including Severe Disabilities in the Municipality of Ruse", the management of the day center, located in the building of the former Mother and Child Home, was taken over by the Third Age Foundation. The social service provides mobile, daily, hourly services and substitute care for up to 14 days a year, and currently the users are nearly 40 people. They receive, according to individual needs, psychological support, counseling, information and support, occupational and occupational therapy activities, as well as mobile services in a home environment. Users who are unable to visit it can also benefit from mobile services, as specialists visit them and provide them with the necessary help and support on site.
