The first Garash Cake Festival will be held in Ruse

Many culinary surprises await residents of Ruse on September 17, when the first Garash Cake Festival will take place. It is organized by the Municipality of Ruse. Participants will offer their own versions of the city-created dessert, using the exact proportions from their mothers' and grandmothers' old notebooks.
The amateur competition will start at 10:30 a.m. in front of the Revenue Building, and the most successful cake will be awarded by the chairman of the jury, Chef Radi Stambolov - the chocolatier who invented the first Garash ice cream.
Throughout the day, tents with refrigerated displays of local confectionary producers will be located on the square in front of the Courthouse. Visitors will have the opportunity to try not only the world-famous Garash cake, but also various sweet and salty delights. On a specially built culinary module, there will be chocolate demonstrations by chef Radi Stambolov, chef Violina Marinova - a face from a popular TV show, and chef Ivaylo Dimitrov - a chef in a well-known Ruse restaurant.
There will also be accompanying events for residents of Ruse and guests of the city, which will begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday /September 15/ with a jazz concert by graduates of the National University of Applied Sciences "Prof. Veselin Stoyanov" on Svoboda Square. The next day, at 8 p.m., the performance "Carmen" will be presented outdoors in front of the State Opera House.
On September 17 /Saturday/ children will be able to participate in the adventure game "The Labyrinth" and watch the production of the State Puppet Theater - Ruse "Vegetables Who Don't Eat or The Amazing Chefs". "The Coffee Cantata" by JS Bach will have its premiere at 10:30 a.m. on the square in front of the Opera House.
For lovers of interesting Ruse facts, there are two free sightseeing tours around the central part of the city, as well as a Treasure hunt - a tourist route in the form of a game, organized by the "Gradored" Association.
The culmination of the celebration is the concert of Lyubo Kirov on the open stage of "Svoboda" square at 7 p.m. After it, people of Rus will be able to see the LED show at the "Mask" Theater.
On September 17 and 18, the International Festival "Living Statues" will take place, organized by DT "Sava Ognyanov" with the financial support of the Municipality of Ruse under the "Culture" Program.
