The sixth edition of the exhibition "The Past Today" was officially opened today on the square. "Svoboda". The exposition is realized on the idea of the State Archives - Ruse, with the financial support of the Municipal Foundation "Ruse - City of the Free Spirit" and the company "TRUD" Ltd.
This year, the traditional exhibition with archival photos is again combined with photos from the present and draws attention to the sports traditions in our city. That is why Encho Enchev, Deputy Mayor of Ruse Municipality and member of the Management Board of the Municipal Foundation "Ruse - City of the Free Spirit", stressed: "The exhibition is in the direction of our support and everything we do for sports in Ruse. We thank the State Archives – Ruse for providing this interesting information from their fund – so people can remember forgotten names from sports that made our city famous." Tolya Chorbadzhieva, Head of the State Archives Department in Ruse, thanked the sponsors from TRUD Ltd. for their trust and financial support, and noted: "This is a really liked exhibition by both the citizens of Ruse and the guests of the city. We plan to continue the sports theme next year, because Ruse has many reasons to be proud not only in the sports presented today."
In the sixth edition of the exhibition "The Past Today" visitors can see photographs and learn the history of the birth of clubs and schools in Ruse in acrobatics, water motor sports, boxing, tennis, equestrian sports, football, basketball, karate, weightlifting, archery, athletics. The text accompanying the photos is bilingual (in Bulgarian and English), so that foreign guests of the city can also get acquainted with the history of the emergence of the presented sports in our city, as well as with the current clubs and their successes.
The exhibition can be viewed until mid-November.
