The mayor of Ruse, Pencho Milkov, met with representatives of UNICEF and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, who are on a working visit to Ruse. During the conversation, the social services offered by the Municipality of Ruse and the future joint cooperation were discussed.

"Ruse is the municipality offering the largest number of social services in Bulgaria - 48. The meeting also discussed the working conditions of the minority groups, as well as the record low unemployment of just over 4% in the city in August. UNICEF and UN representatives expressed interest in classroom retention mechanisms for minority children who often drop out of the education system.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Mayor Encho Enchev and the director of the "Humanitarian Activities"  Katya Petrova.
