Ruse Municipality received funds from the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy to update the salaries of social workers at the Centre for People with Mental Problems and the Centre for People with Dementia in Ruse as of 1 October.
Raising the issue with the department has resulted in additional funding being allocated to each of the municipalities where similar projects are being implemented and whose employees have previously received lower salaries under contracts from previous years.
As a result of the Municipality's progressive actions, the staff caring for the users in the two centres will receive the same salaries as the other employees in the social services - according to the Ordinance on the standards for the remuneration of employees performing activities in the provision of social services, which are financed from the state budget.
In Ruse, a total of 15 people - psychologists, orderlies, nurses and. . work in the two centres in the renovated building of the former St. Dimitar Basarbovski" at "Dorostol" str. 30 people with various diseases from Ruse and other cities in the country are accommodated there in conditions close to the family environment.
Before coming to Ruse, most of them lived in various social institutions under difficult conditions. Now they are provided with 24-hour care, individual and group therapies, and users have the opportunity to create, go for regular walks, and maintain the flower beds and vegetable garden in the centre's courtyard.
