Thursday, 13 October 2022

Ruse Municipality will launch the social service "Crisis Centre for unaccompanied children, foreign citizens and refugee children at risk". The activity will be financially supported by the state budget and will benefit 16 users. This became clear at today's meeting of the City Council, where the councillors voted unanimously for the change.

The new service aims at guaranteeing the rights and interests of unaccompanied children, foreign citizens and refugee children by creating conditions for growing up in a safe environment and receiving expert support. The Municipality of Ruse will contract the implementation of the activity to a supplier after a tender. 12 people are expected to be the staff that will take care of the users of the Crisis Centre for unaccompanied children, foreign nationals and refugee children at risk.

Ruse Municipality has applied for another new social service, which was voted by the municipal councillors today. "Care at Home" aims to provide support in the home environment for persons with disabilities and elderly people dependent on care by expanding the possibilities for providing social and integrated health and social services in the home environment. The activities carried out under the Human Resource Development Programme 2021-2027 will be implemented over a period of 12 months and the number of eligible users is 493 persons. If Ruse Municipality is approved, the service will be completely free of charge for its users and the activities for its implementation will be assigned to the Social Activities Department.

As of 1 November, the capacity of two existing social services in the municipality will be increased. The users of the "Family type accommodation centre for children without disabilities" will increase from 6 to 10 people, and the "Day care centre for children and young people with disabilities" will increase its capacity from 20 to 30 users. Funding for both activities will continue to be state-delegated.

At today's session of the Municipal Council it became clear that the deadline for the implementation of the social service "Hot lunch" is extended. Consumers will receive the food prepared in the Municipal Enterprise "Public Canteen and Social Housing" until the end of September 2025.

Ruse Municipality also applied under the Target Programme "Patronage Mobility for Hot Lunch Delivery" for the purchase of a non-used light commercial vehicle for food delivery to the users of the social service. The subsidy under the programme will amount to BGN 39 600 and 10% of it will be co-financed by Ruse Municipality.
