With EU funding Ruse Municipality transforms the former Teacher's House into an International Youth Centre

The restoration of the building will also change the appearance of the main pedestrian street in Ruse

Ruse Municipality has received an invitation to sign a contract for financing of a project proposal for the construction of an International Youth Centre - Ruse in the building of the former Teacher's House on  "Alexandrovska" 29 str. The activities will be funded under the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan.

The aim of the project is to provide young people with a variety of activities as well as comprehensive services to support their personal development and employability. The activities of the Youth Centre will aim at achieving a higher labour market relevance of young people, achieved through close cooperation with the business and non-governmental sector, and the provision of quality non-formal education as a key approach in youth work.
The project involves major renovation of the building as well as internal refurbishment and refurbishment. The necessary modern and multifunctional furniture and equipment will be purchased to meet the needs of young people. The building will also be adapted for use by people with physical disabilities.

With the renovation, the International Youth Centre will be equipped with:

- rooms with private bathroom to accommodate 16 persons;

- a training/seminar/meeting room with a capacity of 100 people, which will be equipped with a simultaneous interpretation system;

- digital competence training room with 20 workstations;

- language and other training room with capacity for 20 trainees;

- a non-formal education room for at least 36 participants;

- art room and interest clubs;

- multifunctional hall;

- library;

- changing rooms for men and women;

- dining room for 36 persons with kitchen equipment and adjoining rooms;

- leisure room;

- reception;

- a buffet bar;

- maid;

- storage and technical premises;

-offices with workstations for the centre's staff;

- courtyard space for outdoor recreation and events.

The building is an architectural monument of culture, its facade is richly decorated with decorative ledges, pilasters and ornaments, and after its restoration will change the appearance of the main pedestrian street in Ruse.

The project will be financed under procedure No BG-RRP-1. 008 "A1 Youth Centres (in regional towns)" under the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan (NRSP), with total eligible investment costs of just over BGN 4 million.
