140 years celebrated Vocational School of Economics and Management "Elias Canetti" in Ruse

Current and former graduates of Vocational School of Economics and Management "Elias Canetti" gathered at the "Kanev Center" to celebrate the 140th anniversary of the high school. The school is the successor of the Ruse German Practical Commercial School founded in 1883 by Anna Winter, which marked the beginning of economic education in the Danube city.

"Very few institutions in Bulgaria can boast of a 140-year anniversary. It is a privilege and a responsibility – especially to you, the students. The patron of the school is an extremely inspiring and important person for our city. The story of Canetti shows us how through love for the hometown we can do great things, beyond the material," Mayor Pencho Milkov addressed the students.

Among the official guests of the event were the deputy regional governor Detelina Acheva, the head of Regional Department of Education - Ruse , Dr. Rositsa Georgieva, Associate Professor Dr. Daniel Pavlov from the Faculty of "Business and Management" at the University of Ruse "Angel Kanchev" and Dr. Vesselina Antonova from the Elias Canetti International Society, who briefly presented the life path of the Nobel laureate.

During the festive ceremony, the director Anelia Georgieva awarded the "Student of the Graduation" 2023 award for active participation in school and extracurricular, regional, national and international events, artistic performances, active club activity and excellent success, Nikol Nekezova from 12b grade. The twelfth-grader Ralitsa Georgieva also received a diploma.
