A project is looking for future engineers among the youngest students

Friday, 25 November 2022

At the beginning of December, the "Future Engineers" project was launched - lectures and practical activities on engineering sciences for children of the "European Initiatives without Borders" association and the "Children's Palace" educational center. It is part of the "Knowledge and Growth" program of "Econt", financed by the Municipal Foundation "Ruse - City of the Free Spirit".

The workshops are planned to cover 750 children aged 7 to 12 years. They will take place directly in the schools and are aligned with the curriculum of the classes wishing to participate.

Future Engineers events are part of the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) way of teaching, where children acquire knowledge and skills through interdisciplinary, hands-on lessons. During the classes, students will have the opportunity to draw connections between different electronic modules thanks to chemicals whose ink is a conductor of electricity. They will also be taught to sew and create using thread that is also electrically conductive, and when the power is turned on, their creations will activate light and sound.

With some of the classes, there will be activities on assembling different vehicles in real sizes - scooters, tricycles and scooters. Events will also include age-appropriate tool box mock-ups.

The invitation to participate is aimed at students from 1st to 4th grade. For registration and more information - phone 0888246367 or by message on the Facebook page of the Children's Palace.
