A chess-playing robot will take part in the engaging chess event "Ruse 2026 – Natural Intelligence and Technology," scheduled for September 27 at 10:00 AM in the square in front of Ruse Municipality Hall. The smart machine, provided for the event by the company "Dianel," will play against opponents at a central table; the match will be broadcast on a large video screen with live commentary, turning the event into an entertaining encounter between a traditional game of logic and modern technology. Mayor Pencho Milkov will make the opening move against the robot and officially launch the event.

The initiative is part of the European Week of Sport (#BeActive), which promotes an active lifestyle and encourages children and young people to discover a sport that inspires them. The event also supports Mayor Pencho Milkov’s campaign against violence among school-aged youth and will be held under the slogan "Being Kind is TRENDY."

Participants of various ages will play at 20 chess tables, including the innovative robotics club "RoboPioneers," the "L. Karavelov" Regional Library team, representatives from sports clubs, kindergartens, the "Akademik" Sports Club (affiliated with the University of Ruse), and clubs for people with disabilities.

Attendees will have the opportunity to play a game against the robot, and the program also includes a giant chess demonstration. During the event, sports clubs will showcase their activities to children, parents, and the general public, present their achievements, and have the chance to recruit new members.
