Children with special needs participated in an athletics competition

Yesterday the Municipal Athletics Competition for Children with Special Educational Needs was held at the City Stadium in Ruse. The sport event is organized by Sport Club "Olympus - sport is equal" with the support of Sports Athletics Club "Dunav" and is implemented with the financial support of Ruse Municipality.
The competition gathered more than 20 children and their parents. They showed strength of spirit and endurance in the disciplines "40 m run" and "throwing vortex". Their mentors were the athletes from the athletics club "Dunav", who supported them and gave them valuable guidance. All children who participated in the competition received medals for their participation.
The event was also attended by a representative of the Department of Education, Sports and Youth Activities, who greeted the participants on behalf of the Mayor of Ruse Pencho Milkov.
In November Sport Club "Olympus - Sport is Equal" will hold a National Table Tennis Competition for people with disabilities, which will take place in the building of Ruse University "Angel Kanchev".
